You’ve built great habits—now, how do you make them stick?

We’ve all made changes on a whim, it was important in the moment, but the need for instant gratification for our efforts can leave us deflated, and wondering if the effort was worth it, and suddenly it’s all to easy to slip back to where we were, back into the comfortable, and the ‘someday’ mindset takes over.

But it doesn’t have to be this way, you can be your own cheer leader!

Here’s your updated list with “Celebrate Your Wins” included:

1. Identity-Based Habits – Instead of just focusing on actions, reinforce the mindset: “I am the kind of person who…” This shifts habits from something you do to something you are.

2. Habit Stacking – Anchor new habits to existing ones. For example, if you check emails first thing in the morning, use that moment to also review your daily goals.

3. Track Your Wins – Progress fuels motivation. Use a simple habit tracker or journal to celebrate small wins and reinforce consistency.

4. Celebrate Your Wins 🎉 – Don’t wait for big milestones! Acknowledge every step forward. Recognizing your progress boosts confidence and strengthens your commitment to long-term success.

5. Plan for setbacks – Life happens! Instead of feeling like you’ve failed, have a strategy for getting back on track quickly. Missing one day is fine—missing two makes it harder to return.

6. Surround Yourself with the Right Influences – Your environment and the people around you can make or break your habits. Find accountability partners, mentors, or communities that reinforce your growth.

7. Make It Effortless – Remove friction from good habits and add friction to bad ones. If you want to read more, keep a book within reach. If you want to spend less time on social media, remove easy access.

8. Keep Evolving – Habits aren’t set in stone. As your goals shift, refine your habits to align with your next level of success.

By applying these strategies, you’ll not only make your habits stick, but you’ll turn them into powerful tools for long-term growth and success
